Your Prospects: Dazed, Confused

They’re online, daydreaming.

Opening, closing, typing, searching, scrolling, clicking, reading, watching.  Looking at everything; seeing nothing.  Jumping from thought to thought.

Their minds… miles away.  Awake, but functioning on autopilot.

In a trance, they refresh Facebook once more.  Fly through their timeline.  Start a video – but before they can turn the volume up, that b*tch Becky just posted vacation pics from Ibiza.

Wait.  Wasn’t she just in Vegas?  Wonder who’s watchin’ her kids.  Must be nice to have a Sugar Daddy.  Ooh I’m surprised she posted that beach pic.  She’s about a hamburger away from being plus-sized.

*Notices a “(1)” show up in the ol’ Inbox tab.  Bounces over to Gmail.  Ah, it’s just spam.  Delete.  Now on to Yahoo to see what’s “Trending Now.”

And so on and so forth, down the rabbit hole of distraction they go.  Right?

So respect this.  Appreciate what you’re up against here.  You can’t just slop down some words and expect to penetrate this haze.

You’re gonna have to think and work and create and edit and edit and edit and edit before you come up with content that’ll cut through the noise.

And even then, you’ll be ignored by most.

I’m not trying to bum you out here – just trying to prepare you, mentally, for what it takes to create million dollar marketing campaigns.
