Oprah Winfrey Net Worth

How Rich Is Oprah

Oprah Winfrey net worth: Oprah is a media tycoon, actor, producer, and philanthropist with a net worth of $3.1 billion.

Most of her wealth was accumulated throughout the 25 years she hosted The Oprah Winfrey Show.  The show smashed all sorts of TV records, earning Oprah the title “Queen of All Media.”

She’s the third richest African-American and is the first and only black multi-billionaire in the United States.  Many people consider Oprah Winfrey to be the most influential woman in the world today.

Just think about all the careers that have been launched or grown exponentially, overnight, due to “The Oprah Effect.”  It’s nucking futs.  Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, Rachael Ray, countless authors.

And all this fame, fortune, and impact despite being born to a single teenage mom; enduring extreme poverty; being sexually abused; running away from home at 13; and even having a son of her own at 14, who died shortly after birth.

That’s not exactly a billionaire-friendly environment to grow up in, huh?  So what’s your excuse?

If there’s one major takeaway from studying Oprah’s very real rags-to-riches journey, it’s this: pick up a book, bro.  Seriously.

In rounding up Oprah Winfrey’s best quotes, I learned that books were what made her believe a better life was possible.

And without that seed of possibility being planted at an early age, would Oprah have made the transition from the mud of Mississippi to mansions with marble floors?  I doubt it.

So while the corny cliches (“Readers are leaders”, “Learners are earners”, etc.) are annoying to hear, they’re also true.

One millionaire or billionaire after the next credits a love of reading with their success.

And Oprah and her big-ass book club are at the top of that list.

Speaking of book clubs
